Rod Stewart on tour

During December Pains' Indoor Display Department designed and supplied a themed pyrotechnic and visual effects finale for the encore of Rod Stewart's Christmas Party Tour.

The 10 date tour visited major English venues, as well as dates in Belfast and Belgium.

The pyrotechnic logistics were managed by Shaun Barnett, who was also responsible for the show design. A Pains' technician toured with the production to provide safe installation and firing of the show.

67 items of pyrotechnics were fired in the final 30 seconds of each show which consisted of a 38ft wide waterfall, fleur-de-lys, jets, mines and comets.

The pyrotechnics were fired using Pains' Pyro Digital firing system. This enabled us to ensure consistent firing timings and music synchronization, throughout the duration of the tour.

The visual effects element of the shows included four Super Shooters projecting 40kg of white confetti and silver glitter each performance. This reached a height of 25 metres and covered the audience for 40 seconds.

Furthermore using our new CSD's (Continuous Snow Dispensers) we provided a 34ft curtain of paper "snow" across the stage, falling from a truss for a duration of 3 minutes. See the Equipment Hire page for more info on the CSD's.
