Pains' Radio Expertise in Belgium

Pains expertise was called upon once again to deliver a multimedia show in Belgium. In association with pyro-performance company "Feu et Metal", shows were performed at 4 venues depicting the history of the mining and steel industries.

Performers and machinery alike, were augmented with pyrotechnics to simulate the fire, sparks and smouldering molten metals. "Without our 'Digital Radio' firing system, the show would not have been possible, it allowed for remote firings from overhead cable cars and cranes as well as a giant dragon on each of the" said Phil Deeker, Technical Director at Pains.

This was not the first time Pains had worked with 'Feu et Metal'. In April 2006, a Pains team fired a spectacular display off 6 of the 8 spheres of the infamous 'Atomium' in Brussels. This display was to mark the re-opening event of the famous landmark after a year long refurbishment project.

The multi-media show involved 50 firings off each of the spheres, launching a total of over 3000 effects - "We do a lot of high level and city centre shows but this was something else! Very exciting!" said Mike Jones, lead designer. The pictures say it all!
