On route for the games

As the Asian Games Torch passed through the United Arab Emirates on its way to Doha, it was greeted by a spectacular fire and light show at the Sharjah Eye.

Pains created a complex multi-site display firing close proximity effects from a roof top, a road bridge and the Eye itself. Strafes of mines, comets and gerbs were fired from 36 positions around the inner and outer circumference of the 55m diameter Ferris Wheel. The entire show including a display of aerial shells was precisely synchronised through the use of Pains Pyrodigital firing technology.

The multi-media show involved 50 firings off each of the spheres, launching a total of over 3000 effects.
